Opening Reception: Saturday, October 5, 5-7 pm
As life feels increasingly chaotic, how does the body adapt and perform to cope? In what ways do we convince ourselves and others that a heightened sense of busyness should be worn as a badge of honour? Seeing the body as performance, we mould the masks we wear to live within the public eye. As we become conditioned to our own sense of chaos, let us look inwards and within companionship for solace and truth as means to reorient ourselves towards caring and mindfulness.
We invite four regional artists to explore the human figure as an expression of chaos or as a means of rebellion against chaos. The body as protest, the body as a safe house, the body as a medium for creative declaration.
